In October 2010, Vintage Diversity was asked to provide wardrobe for a series of Winn Dixie commercials set in the 1960's, 70's & 80's. Melanie was asked to fill in as an extra on the initial commercial which was filmed on Harrison Street in Hollywood.  A full day of filming and a 30 second spot left shots of Melanie on on the editing floor. However, when asked to return the next day to film the second segment, she appeared as a primary, depicting a school teacher of a first grade class. The commerical begins with Baby "Chuck" in his crib in the 60's looking up at his mobile of beef. Then on to 1st grade in 1972, where "Chuck" portraying his dream of being a butcher, proudly displays a grilled tray of beef to his classmates at show & tell, while Miss Melanie encourages him. Filming for this scene took place in Davie at the Davie School House which is now a museum and event hall. As a middleschooler in his preteen years, "Chuck" dreams about being a butcher and even dresses as a steer for Halloween one year. "Chuck begins his teens in the 80's, where instead of concert or girly posters, his walls are covered with posters of beef, as he plays his electric guitar on his bed in parachute pants.  By the time "Chuck" reachs his 20's, he is so preoccupied with aspirations of being a butcher, he proudly presents his best girl with a gift of a standing rib roast!  Far fetched?  Maybe. But, if you ever have a desire for a great piece of beef, this commercial will make you feel like you can't go wrong with your Neighborhood Winn Dixie Butcher.
